Our
History
To understand
the history of early Boulder County, in particular the area known as Hygiene, it is important to include the HYGIENE UNITED
METHODIST CHURCH (HUMC) community. Members of the Christian family that formed HUMC came together in a fellowship of dedicating
their hearts and souls and spirits to the Lord's work. Almost 150 years have passed and the church has celebrated 100
years of service. The region has changed dramatically from the peaceful, pastoral haven that was once Hygiene, but the caring,
cohesive church community -- with it's time honored traditions -- continues to inspire and embrace friends and neighbors
in a positive loving outreach into the new millennium.
